Wyoming ScholarshipsWyoming Hathaway Scholarship Program These scholarships are available to Wyoming students and are designed to have students get their university education in Wyoming. There are four scholarships included in the Hathaway Program. The Hathaway Career Scholarship and the Hathaway Opportunity Scholarship both award up to $800 per full time semester. The Hathaway Performance Scholarship awards up to $1200 per semester and the Hathaway Performance Scholarship awards $1,600 per semester. Byrd Honors Scholarship There will be nine $1500 scholarships awarded in 2006-07 under the Byrd Scholarship Program to Wyoming graduating seniors. Applicants must have at least a 3.8 GPA. More information and an application can be found at the Wyoming Department of Education website Superior Student in Education Scholarship These scholarships target high achieving students who have lived in Wyoming for at least five years and are planning on a career of teaching in Wyoming. Several criteria are examined to determine the winners, including residency, ACT scores, grades, school activities, students responses to a series of questions andletters of recommendation. Recipients must attend either the University of Wyoming or any of the state's community colleges and major in education. American Legion Auxiliary Health Care Scholarship Wyoming residents studying in a health care field are eligible for this scholarship. Veterans or veteran's children will receive preference, but it is not a requirement. Applicants must have completed at least two semesters and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
