South Dakota ScholarshipsHaines Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is for students majoring in a teacher education program and beyond the freshman year. You must also be a student at one of South Dakota's public universities. The amount of the scholarship is $2150. There are other requirements for the Haines Scholarship.Annis Irene Fowler/Kaden Scholarship First time freshmen at Black Hills State University, University of South Dakota, Northern State University or Dakota State University who are going to major in elementary education are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship amount is $1250. There are other requirements for this scholarship. South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship This scholarship is to provide assistance to the most academically talented of South Dakota's high school graduates. The scholarship award is $1,000 per year for the first three years and $2,000 for senior year (depending on ample funding from the legislature). Students must be SD residents at the time of high school graduation, get at least a 24 composite ACT score and complete the Regents Scholar Curriculum with a 3.0 GPA and no grade under a 2.0.
