Florida Scholarships

Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program This program includes three scholarships that are funded by the state lottery. They are the Florida Academic Scholars Award (FAS), the Florida Medallion Scholars Award (FMS) and the Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award (GSV). Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship Program This scholarship provides financial assistance to Florida residents who are undergraduate students and who meet scholastic requirements, show financial need and attend either Bethune-Cookman College, Edward Waters College, Florida A&M University, or Florida Memorial University. Check with your school's financial aid office for the application and the filing requirements.


Rosewood Family Scholarship Program This scholarship will provide financial assistance for up to twenty-five minority students who qualify and meet all the requirements. Direct descendents of the Rosewood families affected by the incidents of January 1923 (see http://mailer.fsu.edu/~mjones/rosewood/rosewood.html for information on the incidents) will receive priority. The award can be for up to $4,000 and is renewable if certain standards are met. Florida Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans and Servicemembers (CSDDV) If you are a child or an unremarried spouse of a Forida veteran or servicemember who died of service connected illness, disabilities or injuries or who has a 100% total and permanent disability which is service connected and verified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs, you may be eligible for this scholarship. Assuming all requirements are met, the scholarship will pay for tuition and registration fees at an eligible public college or university or an equivalent amount at an eligible private institution.
