Alabama Scholarships

Two Year College Academic Scholarship Program Students enrolled in a two year higher education program may qualify for this scholarship. Priority is given to instate residents. The scholarship may be renewed if the student's grades are high enough. The scholarship amount cannot exceed the tuition and books charges. Contact the financial aid office of any Alabama two year higher education institution for an application. The deadline date is printed on the application.


Senior Adult Scholarship Program If you are 60 years or older and can meet the admission requirements, you may be eligible for free tuition at any two year public post secondary institution. Pick up your application at the financial aid office of any two year higher ed school in Alabama.


J. Craig and Page T. Smith Scholarship Alabama graduating seniors who are planning on attending a four year accredited institution in Alabama leading to a Bachelor's Degree may be eligible for the J. Craig and Page T. Smith Scholarship. The award can be up to $15,000 per year and is renewable for four years as long as the requirements are met. Junior & Community College Performing Arts Scholarship Program If you have a talent in the performing arts field, you can try out through competitive trials to receive this scholarship, not to exceed instate tuition at any junior or community college in Alabama. Check your financial aid office for the application.


Junior & Community College Athletic Scholarship Program If you have athletic ability , you may qualify for this scholarship, which is not to exceed instate tuition and books at any junior or community college in Alabama. The scholarships are awarded based on tryouts and they are limited in number. They may be renewable based on performance. For more information, speak with the coach, athletic director, or financial aid officer at any public junior or community college in Alabama.


Alabama Scholarships for Dependents of Blind Parents If your head of household is blind and family income is not sufficient to provide an education at a public Alabama institution of higher learning, you may be eligible for this scholarship. The money can be used for tuition and instructional fees.

American Legion Scholarship Program If your parent or grandparent was a war veteran and you are a resident of Alabama, you may be eligible for the American Legion Scholarship. For an applications write to: Department Adjutant, The American Legion, P. O. Box 1069, Montgomery, AL 36192. Applications must be in by April 1 each year.


American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Program If your parent or grandparent was a war veteran and you are a resident of Alabama, you may be eligible for the American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship. For an applications write to: American Legion Department Headquarters, American Legion Auxiliary, 120 North Jackson Street, Montgomery, AL 36104. Applications must be in by April 1 each year.


Alabama Space Grant Consortium (ASGC) Fellowship and Scholarship Program Funds are available for a limited number of $1,000 scholarships with special consideration being given to members of underrepresented groups. Applicants must be attending or planning to attend one of the seven* members schools and study in a field related to space. Awards may be renewed one time. Applications may be made as early as the second semester of sophomore year. Academic excellence is a major criterium and a 3.0 GPA is required for consideration. Underrepresented groups include African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians, Pacific Islanders, Asian Americans and women. There may be other requirements. Application deadline February 27. Awards are for one year and are non-renewable up to a maximum of $1,000. Applicants must be students at one of the seven* members schools. Underrepresented groups include African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians, Pacific Islanders, Asian Americans and women. There may be other requirements. Application deadline February 27.
