Mississippi College Grants and LoansMississippi Grants Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG) This grant is for Mississippi residents attending state approved colleges and universities. The amount of the award is up to $500 per year for freshmen and sophomores and up to $1000 for upperclassmen. There are other requirements for this grant.Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant (MESG) This grant is for Mississippi residents attending state approved colleges and universities. The award may be up to $2500 per academic year. Students need at least a 3.5 GPA and a score of at least a minimum score of 29 on the ACT or 1280 on the SAT I.
