Hawaii Student Grants and LoansHawaii GrantsHawaii Student Incentive Grants (HSIG) This program provides a tuition waiver to Hawaii state residents who can demonstrate exceptional financial need. The HSIG program is currently known as the Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP) Program.Hawaii State Tuition Waivers There are a limited number of tuition waivers allowed for residents and non-residents who can demonstrate financial need, merit or service.
Hawaii LoansState Higher Education Loan (SHEL) This is a low interest (5%), fixed rate loan for students who are residents of the State of Hawaii and can demonstrate financial need. The maximum loan is $1,500 per year and funds are limited.
