Colorado Grants

College Opportunity Fund Beginning in the 2005-06 school year, the Colorado legislature approved a stipend for eligible Colorado undergraduates, which pays a part of in-state tuition for a Colorado public institution or a participating private institution. The stipend is based on per credit hour and the amount to be given each year is determined by the legislature. For 2005-06, it is $80 per credit hour at public institutions and $40 per credit hour at private institutions. For an application, click here



Colorado Loans

Colorado Loan Incentive for Teachers (LIFT) This is a loan repayment program for graduates of Colorado colleges and universities who are teaching in Colorado half time or more in an approved subject or in a high poverty rural elementary school as defined by the state. Qualified teachers can get as much as $2,000 per year for four years toward their student loan repayment. Only certain loans are eligible. There may be more requirements. Early Childhood Development Professional Loan Repayment Program This is an educational loan repayment program for early childhood professionals. Qualifications include receiving an Associate's Degree on or after May 1, 2001 from an approved community college program in early childhood education. There must also be an outstanding qualified educational loan from a federal or state agency, college, or a recognized organization providing loan assistance. Applicants must also be employed full-time for at least nine months at a licensed child care facility as defined by Colorado State Laws. There may be other requirements. Scholar's Advantage Loans This is a private education loan through the Iowa Student Loan. It is available to students from South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota or Wisconsin. There are two versions, depending on the school you are attending.
